Our 2025 Summer Sweet Honey is a midsummer blend, offering a smooth, mellow sweetness that’s gentler than the bold, robust flavor of our spring Smoky Mountain Wildflower Honey. It possesses clover, basswood and sourwood nectar, and as the tulip poplar bloom ages, it produces more glucose. The result is a light amber honey with an elegant, sweeter flavor.

I became a sourwood honey addict in 1970 on my 1st vacation in the Smoky Mountains where I first encountered this best of all honeys. Over the years since, each time we vacationed in the Smokies/Lower Appalachian Mtns. we couldn't leave without buying a new supply of sourwood honey from local apiaries. In recent decades whether buying from local stands while in that area or ordering from online sellers the quality of sourwood honeys has been getting gradually worse. That all changed in the past week when I received my order of Killer Bees' Sourwood Blonde and Queens Reserve Honeys. These are the best/purest sourwood honeys I have had in many decades. My quest for the best sourwood honeys is over! I'm hoping to vacation near the Killer Bee apiary in the next year and can't wait to meet the owners and tour their operation.
